Pay your Fitrana 2025 - Zakat Al Fitr
One of the key obligations on Muslims during the Holy month of Ramadan is to donate Fitrana, also known as Zakat Al Fitr, on or before the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr. Fitrana is a small amount each Muslim individual must pay prior to Eid Salah to enable those in need to celebrate the completion of the auspicious month and join in the festivities of Eid-ul-Fitr.
It is a mandatory charity regardless of age or status. Adults can pay their Zakat Al Fitr payment for themselves, as well as for any children or dependents under their care who cannot fulfill the obligation themselves. The only individuals exempt from paying Fitrana are those who do not have over approximately 2kg of staple food in excess of their needs.
Fitrana can be paid during the Holy month of Ramadan as long as payment is made before the congregational prayers on the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr. Any payment submitted after Eid Salah is invalid.
