Prophetic Qurbani

Donate Prophetic Qurbani

Apart from regular Qurbani / Udhiya, Prophetic Qurbani is an extra sacrifice made during Eid al Adha to fulfil the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Prophetic Qurbani serves as a reminder to feed those less fortunate and ensure that everyone can enjoy the celebrations of Eid al Adha. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also used to offer two Qurbani / Udhiya's—one for himself and other for those who could not afford to do it themselves.

“For every hair of the Qurbani/Udhiya, you receive a reward from Allah (SWT).”

(Tirmidhi).

Performing Qurbani / Udhiya in the way Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did unlocks even greater blessings from Allah. It's a double reward, both for fulfilling a Sunnah and for the act of sacrifice itself.

Al Mustafa USA invites you to revive this beautiful sunnah, making double the impact on those in need and reaping double the rewards.

What Is Qurbani (Udhiya)?

Qurbani, known also as udhiya, refers to the slaughter of a livestock animal across the three days of Eid ul Adha, from the 10th through the 13th of Dhul Hijjah. The practice honours what Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail went through, and it remains one of the defining acts of worship during the hajj months.

Who is eligible for Qurbani?

Every sane Muslim who has reached mature age and holds wealth above the Nisab threshold carries this obligation. Under the Hanafi school, qurbani donation is compulsory. Other schools classify it as a strongly recommended sunnah. Regardless of which position you follow, giving qurbani brings immense reward.

The sacrificial animal has to meet Islamic guidelines. Sheep and goats need to be a minimum of one year old and count as a single share. Cows need to be two years old minimum and yield seven shares. Camels, five years minimum, also seven shares. Every animal must be in good health and sacrificed according to Islamic principles. The meat splits three ways: your household, people you know, and those in need.
