Water is the essence of life, yet nearly 696 million people around the world still live without access to clean and safe drinking water. For many of us, water flows from a tap, but for families facing the global water crisis, every drop is a daily struggle for survival, health, and dignity. Without safe water, communities are forced to rely on contaminated rivers and unsafe sources, leading to deadly waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid.
Women and children often walk miles each day just to collect water, losing precious time that could be spent on education, work, and building a better future. The lack of clean water keeps vulnerable families trapped in poverty, making access to safe drinking water not just a basic need, but a life saving necessity.
At Al Mustafa Canada, we are committed to tackling the global water crisis by delivering safe drinking water to communities living in poverty across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Our Water for Life projects focus on long term, sustainable solutions that uplift vulnerable communities and provide reliable access to clean water for years to come.
We work closely with local partners to install water wells, hand pumps, solar powered community wells, and water purification plants in some of the world’s poorest regions. Every water project donation is carefully designed to be safe, community focused, and built for lasting impact, so families never have to worry about access to clean and safe water again.

Water Hand Pump serve up to 40 families in a remote, impoverished village, providing clean drinking water every single day. These hand pumps are installed in rural areas with limited access to electricity, and clean water is used for drinking, cleaning, washing and for livestock and crops. In these villages, water also benefits graveyards and local bus stops. Donors receive a photo and report upon completion.

Water wells serve up to 60 families in a remote, impoverished village, providing clean drinking water every single day. These water wells are installed in rural areas with limited access to electricity, and clean water is used for drinking, cleaning, washing and for livestock and crops. In these villages, water also benefits graveyards and local bus stops. Donors receive a photo and report upon completion.

Electric water wells are installed in public places such as schools, hospitals and in mosques. There is existing access to electricity, and they can also be maintained easily. Each electric water well is linked to a water tank and benefits up to 600 people every single day. Donors receive a photo and report upon completion.

Community water wells benefit up to 2,000 people in a village, providing clean water every single day. Usually, women and children would walk 5-6 miles each day to find water for their families, but these wells are a short walk from any house in the village. Easy access to clean water means children can go to school, and entire communities will flourish. Donors receive a photo and report upon completion.

We build Water Purification Plants in communities facing severe water shortages. These plants use a system of reverse osmosis, and advanced technology. We use advanced technology and new systems to purify and clean existing water, removing it of harmful substances, dirt and bacteria. After a process of purification, we transform water that is unfit for human consumption into clean water that is safe for drinking. Water is stored in a water tank and can be accessed at any time by the community. The system and the clean water tank are verified in accordance with World Health Organisation standards. Our water purification plant provides 1,000 litres fresh and clean water every hour.

We send all donors a detailed report with pictures, upon completion of the construction of their water well. We will do this in the mail and also by sending an email to your inbox.
